Wednesday 14th March 2018 was a special day for Abatec as it signified the official start of our 30th year celebrations. To start in style, we were whisked up to Cheltenham to enjoy Ladies Day at the Cheltenham Festival 2018.
We arrived at the course in good time before the first race. The weather was a mixture of windy and chilly, but thankfully the rain stayed away. Our party descended on the Champions Walk restaurant which was located opposite the horse walk, a short distance away from the course so we had a great view of horses moving from the Parade Ring to the course. It was the perfect spot for good food, a few drinks and lots of laughter…and of course the occasional flutter!
The annual Ladies Day competition was known as the #ColourMeMarch. For those who entered the competition, outfits would be judged on their eye-catching colour and style, and the winner would become the proud owner of a brand new Mini One and a whole host of other brilliant prizes. Needless to say, the Abatec ladies joined in the fun and posed for photos of their super-stylish outfits in order to enter the competition.
As the day came to an end, over 55,000 people began their journeys home. As is very much “the Abatec way”, our mini-bus journey home consisted of a sing-song, where our very own Jack Lee demonstrated that he knew every single word to American Pie by Don Mclean; a song that was released 21 years before he was born!
A great start to our 30th year celebrations, with more fun-filled events to follow.
